Poetry

Over the past two years I’ve developed a passionate interest in poetry. Follow this link for a number of poems that have impressed me in particular. As my entire website is still under construction, this list is severely incomplete. I hope to expand it soon.

“My Creed”, Edgar Albert Guest

I have experienced that this poem has a remarkable power to calm my sea of thoughts, and allows me to think clearly and focused whenever I am confused by conflicting personal goals. Please follow this link for what I find to be an excellent rendition of (part of) this poem. I hope you are as touched by Edgar Albert Guest as I was and still am.

“Nessum Dorma”, Pavarotti

This is an aria called “Nessun dorma” from the final act of Giacomo Puccini’s opera Turandot. The following performance by Pavarotti greatly impressed me because of its invigorating nature, resulting both from the aria’s beautiful phrases and from Pavarotti’s display of emotions.
